CONCEPT OF KNOWLEDGE

Assalamu alaikum warahmatullahi wa barakaatu

In the name of Allah, most gracious most merciful,

I am here to present on the topic “Concept of Knowledge”. First of all, education is important on every Muslim society as the prophet made it compulsory on all Muslim, he said

                طَلَبُ الْعِلْمٌ فَرِيضَتٌ عَلَى كٌلِّ مُسْلِمٍ وَ مُسْلِمَت

Meaning: seeking for knowledge is compulsory on every Muslim (Male and Female).

In a monument work of Hassan bin Aliyu expounds the basic principle of education in Islam he says.

حَيَاةُالْقَلْبُ عِلْمٌفَاغْتَنِمْهُوَمَوتُ الْقَلْبُ الْجَهِلُ فَاجْتَنِبْهُ

Saying: Surviving of heart is knowledge, seek for it and the death of heart is illiteracy stay away from it. Knowledge has become part of us in such a way that whoever did not seek for knowledge is not important in the society and has nothing to offered.

A time will come at the end of the word many people will seek for knowledge and the will get it, but won’t be of use to them neither the society because they did not follow or abide by the rules of knowledge. Abiding by learning rules and regulation will be help for creating an academic atmosphere in which the education principle facilitates the development of moral values in the students.

Also in a life or society were they is no knowledge, it is as good as a dead society Hassan bin Aliyu says:

اَلْجَاهِلُونَ فَمَوتَى قَبْلَ مَوتِهِم        وَالْعَالِمُونَ وَإِن مَاتُوا فَأَحَيَاءُ

Meaning: An illiterate (A person whom did not acquire for knowledge) he has died before his death, but a knowledgeable person even if he is died he is still alive.

With this, I would like to draw the attention of our parents to put their children in a good way of learning especially the Islamic school for their children to acquire the best in life and attain the best in here after
