The Evil of Telling Lies in Islam

 salaamun alaykum brothers and sisters in Islam, let take a few of our time to look at the evil of lying in Islam, as many of us have taken it as our playing toy which we are playing with night and day. Because we know not it is repercussions. Lying is one of the greatest sin in Islam and Allah the Almighty the Exalted asked the Prophet salla Allah alayhi wa salam to invite the people of the scripture, so that they would cursed those who tell lies between them , as Allah says ".....so that we will invoke Allah's curse upon whoever tell lies "(Al Imran) .

And the Prophet salla Allah alayhi wa salam said in hadith narrated by Ibn Mas'uud radiya Allah anhu " verily, truthfulness guide one to righteousness and righteousness guide one to Jannah. A person will cultivate the habit of telling the truth and continue telling the truth till Allah will write his name with Him that this person is a truthful . And I warn you against lying, because lying lead one to evil and evil lead one to hell, a person will cultivate the habit of telling lie and continue with it, till Allah write his name with Him that this person is a liar."(saheeh)

The most severe in sin is the one you tell against Allah and His Messenger, Allah says in many Quranic verses " Who is more unjust than the one who tells lies against Allah "

And the Prophet salla Allah alayhi wa salam said "whoever tell lies against me intentionally, let him find his place in the hellfire ".

(Bukhari and Muslim) .

O my beloved brothers and sisters in Islam, this is the evil of what we are playing with. Many businessmen think that telling lies will increase their business, and that is not the case. The fact is, the more you tell lies the more Allah will remove barkah (blessing) from your business.

O my beloved brothers and sisters in Islam, saying the truth will never take away what Allah has ordained for you and telling lie will never get you anything except what He has ordained for you.

Therefore, let be truthful in any situation we find ourselves in other to gain Allah's blessing.

May Allah count us among those who cultivated the habit of telling the truth and May He writes our names among the truthful.
