*SEEKING GUIDANCE FROM ALLAH (ﷻ) REGULARLY*

*He is The Guardian*

Allaah (ﷻ) has given Himself names and siffat (attributes) so that we can know Him. The most amazing and beauty about Allaah's (ﷻ) names is that through them, you can see how your Creator recognizes the needs of His creation.

We all need sustenance; and He (ﷻ) is Ar-Razzaaq, (The Provider).

We all need love; and He (ﷻ) is Al-Waduud, (The Most Loving).

We all need protection; and He (ﷻ) is Al-Hafidh, (The Guardian).

And so on...

What we need the most is the very thing of which Allaah (ﷻ) has an unlimited supply.

And He (ﷻ) say:

*ٱدْعُونِىٓ أَسْتَجِبْ لَكُم*

_“Call upon Me; I will respond to you.”_

[Ghafir 40:60]

Sometimes we are put through test to recognise the dominion of Allaah (ﷻ). Sometimes it is to open our eyes to our own flaws so that we can change. But whatever it is, if we realize that the answer to any problem is through Him (ﷻ), and that He (ﷻ) suffices all our needs, then our relief is already at hand.

Many at times, we find ourselves to be lost, this is alarming because we used to be a person who had direction. We thought we knew where we were going and what we were doing.

But things start to fall apart, internally. We aren't sure anymore, and then we realized we have three choices:

To continue to do what we are doing without putting in any extra thought.

To give up entirely.

To re-assess and re-orient.

Because this feeling persisted for a while, we realized something else. We come to know Allaah's (ﷻ) attribute of Guidance. Sometimes this feeling of being lost can bring us closer to Allaah (ﷻ) or far away from Him.

On the authority of Abu Dharr Al-Ghafari (رضي الله عنها), of the Prophet (ﷺ) is that among the sayings he relates from Allaah (ﷻ) is that He (ﷻ) said:

*يَا عِبَادِي! كُلُّكُمْ ضَالٌّ إلَّا مَنْ هَدَيْته، فَاسْتَهْدُونِي أَهْدِكُمْ*

_“O My servants, all of you are astray except for those I have guided, so seek guidance from Me and I shall guide you.”_

(Sahih Muslim, Hadith 24)

As Allaah (ﷻ) gave Himself the attributes of Guidance and Light, how can we ever believe that we will be in darkness for too long?

Say, for example, you are drowning in a pool. Who will you usually call out for? The lifeguard. The lifeguard is already there, watching out for people, and because that is his job, when you call out to him he will jump in there to save you.

Now Allaah (ﷻ) is over and above any analogy, but as Allaah (ﷻ) gave Himself the attribute of Guidance, telling us that He (ﷻ) is the Guide and He (ﷻ) is the Light of the heavens and the earth, then how can we be lost for too long? Especially if we seek Him (ﷻ).

Are we saying that lifeguards do their job better than Allaah (ﷻ)?

Astaghfirullah!

Definitely not. It is time we adhere to the teachings of Allaah (ﷻ) so that in any situation, He (ﷻ) can guide us through till success becomes our final abode both on earth and the hereafter.

May Allaah (ﷻ) keep guiding us all and protect us from any satanic influences.
